Virgin Galactic
Its still my dream to do this one day ; ) The most amazing way to experience our world. ; )
"Virgin Galactic plans to fly 500 passengers a year at about US$200,000 each, to an altitude of over 100 km, with a total weightless time of 7 minutes.
Only about 500 people have been off the planet and gained their astronaut wings since spaceflight began in the 1960s, and even fewer have orbited the Earth. Current commercial flights to space, provided by the Russian Space Agency, cost roughly US$20 million for a six-day orbital flight.[1]" ~ Wikipedia.org

Flickr Thursday
I posted a lot of pics on my flickr page from when I was young. Take a look. Have a good laugh you bastards ; )
Here it Comes
"Another major weather system promises to dump lots of snow across the front range foothills, the eastern plains and much of the high country. A WINTER STORM WARNING goes into effect for the front range this afternoon and will continue throughout tonight. Expect accumulations of 2 to 7 inches for metro Denver by late this evening." ~ Nick Carter ~ 9news
Its not looking to be quite as big as the last storm, but it is still going to dump on us none the less. They are expecting about a foot of snow or so in the Denver Metro Area by tomorrow night. This should be a blast. ; )

Next Big Thing?
"Another powerful winter storm on the way, with heavy snow, strong winds, and possibly even blizzard conditions starting late tomorrow. Mild ahead of the storm again today with a mixture of sunshine and high clouds. Not quite as windy, but still a good breeze at times through the foothills. Highs will reach the 40s to low 50s this afternoon on the plains and Front Range. There is a WINTER STORM WATCH in effect for the high country this afternoon through tomorrow. A separate WINTER STORM WATCH goes into effect for the plains tomorrow." ~ Nick O'Kelly ~ 9news
We'll wait to see what happens with this. Should be fun. ; )

Thought
"Thought or thinking is a mental process which allows beings to model the world, and so to deal with it effectively according to their goals, plans, ends and desires. Words referring to similar concepts and processes include cognition, sentience, consciousness, idea, and imagination.
Thinking involves manipulation of information, as when we form concepts, engage in problem solving, reason and make decisions. Thinking is a higher cognitive function and the analysis of thinking processes is part of cognitive psychology." ~Wikipedia.org

Dream
"A dream is the experience of envisioned images, sounds, or other sensations during sleep. The events of dreams are often impossible or unlikely to occur in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer. The exception is lucid dreaming, in which a dreamer realizes that he or she is dreaming—being sometimes even capable of changing the oneiric reality around him or her and controlling various aspects of the dream, in which the suspension of disbelief is broken.[citation needed] Dreamers may experience strong emotions while dreaming. Frightening or upsetting dreams are referred to as nightmares." ~Wikipedia.org
It's interesting how our dreams effect us. I can have some pretty vivid dreams. Sometimes that can be beneficial. Especially in my line of work. Other times it can be a big hinderence. I've always enjoyed trying to examine my dreams. You hear qoutes all the time about the meaning of dreams like, "thier the windows to our souls" and other variations. I do kind of believe this in a metaphorical sense. Its more like our unconcious mind trying to solve certain issues or troubles we have going on in our lives at that time. You should always pay attention to what your dreams are telling you. But its up to you to really figure out what it is they are actually trying to say. God that sounds sappy as hell doens't it?
I would have to say the one thing I enjoy the most is trying to explore my own mind and how my fucked brain actually works. Some would say it doesn't ; P But the journey of that is what I think is the most beneficial. I usually try to put myself into a situation that truly plays on my fears and then I try to "examine" for lack of a better word, how I react and see what i can learn. In doing this you find you can experience so much more of life that you otherwise would just let pass you by. But you can't be very choosy about what you experience. You kind of have to throw yourself into it. Otherwise your never really leaving your comfort zone and you never learn anything new.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
~Albert Einstein.
I always remember as well that through out your life you have to experience pain and suffering as well. Othewise how would you know what it truly means to have joy and happiness. Balance you know? Its the only way I feel I can live. Never shield yourself from a new experience you could have. It makes all the difference in the word. ; )

Flickr Update
I uploaded some of my RAW shots I took with Rich's camera last weekend. Didn't have a tripod so alot are fuzzy, but I was going for abstract anyway. ; ) Take a look at tell me what you think.
Apocalypto
I went and saw this movie this weekend. Basically it's a about a man whose village is ravaged by a dominating civilization. He is able to hide his family before he is taken, but they are still in harms way. So then it becomes a fight for him to save his family. This movie was amazing. I seriously was captivated the whole time. It is a very brutal movie, but I don't believe it was in a grotesk way. It seemed necessary. If you hadn't planned on seeing this you should. It was also shot in the native tongue of these people. Beautiful Language : )

AiC Digital Media Production
Well after talking with the Returning Admissions rep at AiC, I've been getting pretty excited about going back to school to finish my bachelors Digital Media Production. It's actually becoming quite a good situation for me. I'm 24 so I'll get better financial aid. I already have my asociates degree and tother classes that i finished before I even left AiC the first time, so now I'll have such a good advanced placement that I will most likely only have about 8 classes to finish my bachelors. : ) That rocks man. So now I am waiting to be able to get the info back from this lady and to talk to the department head, and then I should be able to get going. She also said my grades were so good that i wouldn't even have to worry about getting in, and I would most likely get a lot of merit scholarships. : )

This movie looks absolutely amazing. It's based off a graphic novel Frank Miller wrote about the Spartans. He is the same artist/writer that made SinCity. This entire movie was shot on almost all green screen. It's inspired me to take the photography to more of a hobby and actually look into doing the Bachelors for Digital Media Production at AiC. I would get a really good advanced placement so it may be a better bet. I love photography, but I'm not sure if I want the degree for it as much as I would want a Bachelors in Video Production.

New Blog Layout
I finally found the hack I needed on the web to be able change my blog to the updated blog using the beta features. Damn I'm a geek. So tonight I will be updating that. I was able to get server space fairly cheaply off of media temple the other night as well and I registered dreamsintechnicolr.com. So that means that in a ddition to having my blogs, I will also be able to, with fiona's assistance, finally get my own website up on the web. : ) I will be posting video's photos and all sorts of cool crap that most likely I am the only one who cares about ; P More soon.

Photography
Been shooting a lot of still photography lately and it's been really inspiring me to learn more about it. It has so many paralells with video that I'm sure I could get through it rather quickly. Plus work would pay for it as well. Gonna do some research. See what my options are. ; )
Update: I just called the Art Institute and they have a new 1 year photography diploma, so I am going to meet with an admissions person on Monday to see what it's all about and what the tuition would look like. : )

Sudden Deep Thoughts
"God is in the rain..." ~Evey Hammond ~V for Vendetta
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything." ~Tyler Durden ~Fight Club
"I miss your faces. They remind me of God." ~Cleavland Heep ~Lady in the Water
It not so much the words themselves that I love, but the profound impact they mean for the human being stating them. The true reason for thier decision to use those words to express how they feel. It's interesting how impactful the simple act of living can be on the mind. I've had the privelidge of existing through my own experiences in my life and it has given me the greatest understanding of what it means to "learn and grow".
Zen Center of Denver
I finally made it to the Zen Center of Denver last night. I didn't realize I would have such a good time. The night started out with an introduction to the "procedure" you take during the meditation. We did that for about 20 minutes. Then we joined the rest of the people upstairs in the temple area. We had seated meditation for about 20 minutes. My right leg totally feel asleep. I was hilarious. I couldn't move it at all. I almost started laughing during the meditation. But after awhile I forgot it was asleep and was able to get myself fairly relaxed. Once the seated mediation was over, we had about 10 minutes of slow walking meditation. Then once that was over we all sat in a large semi-circle and the zen master of the temple came out and had a Q&A session with everybody. That guy was awesome. : ) I've never heard someone give such unbiased answers. I learned later that he had been in a monastery for about 15 years before the temple and he also lived in a kind of halfway point of temple living and the outside world for about 10 years before that. Truly an interesting man. Just a little guy too. : ) I really had an awesome time, and I plan to go back. Unfortunately I can't go for about a week because they're going to be gone for their version of Christmas for a retreat. I recommend just going to check it out. The chanting I heard at the end when the Q&A was over was amazing. : )
