Photography
Been shooting a lot of still photography lately and it's been really inspiring me to learn more about it. It has so many paralells with video that I'm sure I could get through it rather quickly. Plus work would pay for it as well. Gonna do some research. See what my options are. ; )
Update: I just called the Art Institute and they have a new 1 year photography diploma, so I am going to meet with an admissions person on Monday to see what it's all about and what the tuition would look like. : )

Sudden Deep Thoughts
"God is in the rain..." ~Evey Hammond ~V for Vendetta
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything." ~Tyler Durden ~Fight Club
"I miss your faces. They remind me of God." ~Cleavland Heep ~Lady in the Water
It not so much the words themselves that I love, but the profound impact they mean for the human being stating them. The true reason for thier decision to use those words to express how they feel. It's interesting how impactful the simple act of living can be on the mind. I've had the privelidge of existing through my own experiences in my life and it has given me the greatest understanding of what it means to "learn and grow".
Zen Center of Denver
I finally made it to the Zen Center of Denver last night. I didn't realize I would have such a good time. The night started out with an introduction to the "procedure" you take during the meditation. We did that for about 20 minutes. Then we joined the rest of the people upstairs in the temple area. We had seated meditation for about 20 minutes. My right leg totally feel asleep. I was hilarious. I couldn't move it at all. I almost started laughing during the meditation. But after awhile I forgot it was asleep and was able to get myself fairly relaxed. Once the seated mediation was over, we had about 10 minutes of slow walking meditation. Then once that was over we all sat in a large semi-circle and the zen master of the temple came out and had a Q&A session with everybody. That guy was awesome. : ) I've never heard someone give such unbiased answers. I learned later that he had been in a monastery for about 15 years before the temple and he also lived in a kind of halfway point of temple living and the outside world for about 10 years before that. Truly an interesting man. Just a little guy too. : ) I really had an awesome time, and I plan to go back. Unfortunately I can't go for about a week because they're going to be gone for their version of Christmas for a retreat. I recommend just going to check it out. The chanting I heard at the end when the Q&A was over was amazing. : )

Could be big
Denver is finally getting hit with the storm. Traffic has been horrible. My is jeep is awesome though. : )
My pics in the header
Possible Storm
Here is what it looks like currently in Steamboat Springs, where Fiona used to live. This kind of looks normal for them this time of year, but apparently its supposed to hit Denver by Tonight and drop about 6 inches of snow. I guess this is the storm that hit Washington earlier. Not too bad. I hate snow, but I like it when it decides to dump on us. Makes it a little more fun to get to work. : )

High School Memories
Justin and I spent the day yesterday with our old friend Krystle. Unfortunately it was because her mother had just passed, but we were able to have a good time after the ceremony was done. She gave us these old pictures she had from back when we were in high school. It's crazy to see how young we were. : )

Zen Center of Denver
"Zen Buddhism is a straightforward and practical teaching, which when properly understood and practiced, is demonstrably capable of liberating manfrom his deep-seated fears and anxieties so he canlive and die with peace and dignity."
I'm really interested to find out what this is like, so I am going to stop by tonight and see how one of thier instructional classes goes. Should be interesting. : )

Life Like Water
"The river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth...in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere, and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past, nor the shadow of the future...Siddhartha the boy, Siddhartha the mature man and Siddhartha the old man [are] only separated by shadows, not through reality...Nothing was, nothing will be, everything has reality and presence."
I like how they described the relation between life and water in the book Siddhartha. : ) Matches what I think.

Trees near highway
If you can see it the trees that were knocked down from the storm are still laying near the highway. The clean up job is pretty extensive.
Last day in Baton Rouge
Not too much to do today. A cold front has moved into the area, it wasn't quite muggy this morning : ) Might get a chance to meet some of the higher ups today. The bosses are going to give me a tour of "12 floor"All the head honchos work up there and i guess everybody gets a strange vibe going up there. Eeh, just another floor. : )

wall.papr.dreams
I just created a new blog with the Beta Blogger Layouts. Pretty cool set-up. The only thing is it isn't quite as easy to change the layout. Little bit more like form fill. Cool just the same. I am going to use that layout for my new blog that I will be using to post new Wallpapers. Each time I add a wallpaper I will give a post on here with the blog header to let everyone know. It will have this same picture in and the name of the wallpaper. : )

Fiona had a chance yesterday to go to the Japanese Garden we found the Sunday I had to leave. I wasn't able to go explore the garden because it was a little too wet, but fiona was able to go back and get some pictures of it. Here are the pictures she took. You can also look at them on her blog. : )
