Fringe*

I'm such a J.J. Abrams junky. Everything this guy has a hand in is gold. The latest concept he helped make is the new show on Fox called Fringe. This show has caught my interest so much. It has alot of the feel of Alias and Lost combined. Which J.J. helped create as well. IT has a little bit of a hint of X-Files as well. If you haven't seen it, you have to check it out. You can watch full episodes on the fox website. :)

Moonlight In Glory

One of my favorite Motion Design Companies and probably the one that gives me some of the most inspiration, came up with a new music video for "Moonlight in Glory," from David Byrne and Brian Eno's classic album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, remastered in 2006. I had never heard this song before. Good song. Beside the point though. Jacob Trollback decided he wanted to see what it would be like to make a music video that wasn't reactive the song, but more like the creator of the music itself. Here is a link to his companies website that has the video posted. Absolutely awesome work. :)

Kung Fu

I got a soft spot for anything Japanese and especially when it has great style to it (ex. Kill Bill). This new animated movie is called KungFu Panda and has Jack Black as the lead voice. This looks awesome and I can't wait to see it. :)

Youtube Update

I updated my youtube channel to have all my latest videos. I added alot of stuff that I had on my google video pages, but not all. Unfortunately Youtube only let's you upload 100MB for each file so some won't fit. Have a look though. Leave me feedback. Helps to know where I need to improve. :)

JMPR

This looks absolutely amazing. It was made out of nowhere by Doug Liman (Go, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and is written by David S. Goyer. Jumper is originally based on a novel by Steven Gould of the same name. The film is currently set to hit theaters early next year on February 15th. I can't wait to see it.

Reel Moments

Sorry for coping out and doing just another video post, but I wanted to show other people this video. I saw when I was looking through the current.tv blog. It's a really simple video just editing together some interesting moments from the past 3 years around the world. It caught my eye just because it's so simple and slightly evocative because of that. You'll see what I mean when you look at the video.

Seen Sunshine

Honestly. I truly believe this movie to be one of the best I've seen. It plays on so many themes and concepts that I love to explore. The Story telling was amazing. The cinematography was beautiful, and the acting was top notch. If you haven't seen this movie yet you need to. I am absolutely going to see it again.

Sunshine

This movie looks amazing. I really love these types of stories that dive into not only how we do things to save ourselves, but why. The website says it comes out July 20th. Hopefully that the wide release. I can't wait to see it. Here is the description the had on the website.

"'The premise of SUNSHINE,' explains producer Andrew Macdonald, 'is that in 50 years from now the Sun is dying. It is no longer providing the energy and the light that mankind needs to survive on Earth. The entire global community pools its resources to send a mission into space to deliver a bomb to reignite the part of the Sun that is failing. Our story concerns the eight astronauts and scientists who lead this mission. On their journey towards the Sun the crew stumble upon the ship that was sent on the same mission seven years previously, the Icarus I, drifting in space. From this point on things start to go very wrong and it’s about how the crew react under the enormous pressure of their endeavor to save mankind.'"

Update: This movie doesn't actually premiere in Denver until July 27th so I won't get to see it til next week. That bummed me out, but oh well. It's worth waiting for. :)

Counterfeit

Not sure if you guys got to actually watch this, but I am pretty proud of it. Not bad for my first try at a 48 hour film project. :)

Here's the link to the page if the video doesn't play.

Cloverfield

I swear I want to work with these guys one day. I love JJ Abrams ability to mystify people and to really get your imagination going on over-drive. I saw this trailer yesterday when I was at the movies to see transformers. So far the title is unannounced. This was so amazing. You have to watch. :)

The Last Question

Ryan had found this story on digg.com the other day. It was an amazing story about a simple question. It reminded me a lot of the Fountain. It was a brilliant movie by Darren Aronofsky. He made Requiem for a dream and Pi before that. The answer just blows you away. I would have to say that the story relates to a lot of the beliefs I have on existence and how we work as Human Beings. Read it. Its a short story so it won't take you too long. Maybe 20 minutes. Its absolutely worth your time though.

Short Story by Isaac Asimov
